Most people arrive at coaching holding a question that sounds like a decision. Should I leave? Should I start the thing? What do I do next? Underneath it, nearly always, is a quieter question: how do I want my life to feel?
Why a designer’s habits help
Design is the practice of shaping things that do not exist yet. Over time, designers build habits for doing that well. They listen before they decide. They draw instead of describe. They try small versions before committing to big ones. They expect to be wrong a few times on the way to being right.
None of those habits belong only to products. They are just as useful when the thing you are shaping is a career, a business, a change of direction or a creative block that has lasted too long. Mind is coaching built on those habits, and it is led by someone who has used them for years to design products for millions of people.
How a session works
A session starts by listening. Not to the plan, but to what is underneath it. We try to name the feeling you are designing towards, because that becomes the brief for everything else.
Then we draw. Together we make a visual map of where you are now and where you want to be, with the moments in between. People are often surprised how much clearer a problem becomes once it is on paper, in shapes and colours, rather than circling in their head.
Then we prototype. Instead of deciding everything at once, we choose one small, reversible thing to try before we next speak. A conversation, an afternoon spent on the idea, a first sketch of the business. Small tests take the fear out of big change, and they give you something real to learn from.
What coaching is, and what it is not
Coaching is a structured conversation about where you want to go and how to get there. It is not therapy, and it is not a replacement for professional care. If what comes up in a session would be better held by a therapist or a doctor, we say so, clearly and kindly, and help you find the right support.
Where to begin
If you are at a turning point, the simplest first step is a short, free conversation to see whether this way of working suits you. From there, a single goal setting session is often enough to turn a knot of possibilities into a picture you can act on.
